VIENNA - A Change of Command Ceremony will be held at the 910th Airlift Wing of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station at the beginning of March as Col. James Dignan becomes commander of the wing and installation commander of the station.
He will be replacing Brig. Gen. Brian Dominguez, who is returning to his previous assignment as vice commander of the 22nd Air Force at Dobbins Air Force Base, Ga.
Dignan began his career in November 1989 through the U.S. Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Fla. Since then, he has clocked more than 6,500 hours in trainer, patrol, reconnaissance and airlift aircraft as an officer and pilot.
Dignan has also flown combat missions in the Balkans, the Horn of Africa and Southwest Asia.
His most current position was as commander of the 446th Operations Group at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
In his new position, he will be responsible for the training and readiness of more than 1,600 Air Force Reservists and is in charge of 12 cargo aircrafts.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. March 2 at the station in Vienna.
