JACKSON-MILTON 43, WESTERN RESERVE 39: BERLIN CENTER - The Blue Jays jumped out to a big first-quarter lead and held on for a non-conference win over the Blue Devils.
Jackson-Milton (15-6) took a 17-6 advantage after the first 8 minutes and only allowed Western Reserve to take even points out of the advantage the rest of the way. Rebecca Jones paced the Blue Jays with a game-high 17 points.
April Lude led he Blue Devils with 15 points.
WINDHAM 46, GARFIELD 32: WINDHAM - The Bombers held the G-Men to eight points in the second and third quarters to cruise to a win over their rivals.
Windham (12-10, 7-7) dropped 32 points in the second and third quarters to take a 24-point lead in the final 8 minutes. Dari Heller paced the Bombers with a game-high 12 points.
Madison Geddes led the G-Men (8-14, 5-9) with eight points in the losing effort.
BROOKFIELD 39, YOUNGSTOWN CHRISTIAN 36: BOARDMAN - The Warriors used a 53.1-shooting percentage to beat the Eagles in a close non-conference showdown.
In contrast to Brookfield's shooting performance, Youngstown Christian struggled from the field, posting a 26.1-percent mark in the game. Shanell Harris scored nine points for the Eagles.
Ashley Kirila scored 13 points for Brookfield (10-10), and the team returns to action tomorrow for senior night against Bristol.
SALEM 72, NILES 33: SALEM - The Quakers took an 11-point first-quarter lead and never looked back against the Red Dragons.
Ciera Trybend led Salem with 18 points, while Sara Marx paced Niles with 12 points.
CANFIELD 67, LOWELLVILLE 25: LOWELLVILLE - Forcing 22 turnovers, the Cardinals routed the Rockets in a non-conference matchup.
Sabrina Mangapora and Rachel Tinkey led the way for Canfield (21-1), with Mangapora dropping 28 points and Tinkey adding 15 in the winning effort.
Kaye Solak paced Lowellville (19-3) with 10 points.
URSULINE 52, EAST 44: YOUNGSTOWN - Sydney Beasley and Tanaya Beacham powered the Fighting Irish to a win over East on Wednesday.
The two combined for more than half of Ursuline's point total, with Beasley going for 15 and Beacham going for 14. They counterbalanced East's (4-14) two leaders Ashlyn Baker and Chmicka Kennedy, who totaled 34 of East's 44 points.
The Panthers failed to take advantage of their trips to the charity stripe as well, going 13 of 32 on foul shots.
GRAND VALLEY 44, BERKSHIRE 40: ORWELL - The Mustangs ended their regular with a lose non-conference win over the Badgers.
After going down by three points at the end of the first quarter, Grand Valley (14-8) came back and built a four-point lead heading into the final quarter. The Mustangs managed to keep pace with Berkshire (11-10) for the win.
Jessica Vormelker recorded 17 points for the Mustangs, while Kayla Byler matched that performance with 17 points for the Badgers.
Grand Valley opens up the Division III district tournament against Champion on Saturday at 2:30 in Mineral Ridge.
Bowling
ALL-AMERICAN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP: The Champion boys bowling team won the AAC, National Division championship on Wednesday, defeating Liberty in the final, 2,747-2,345.
Jared Gould led the way for the Golden Flashes, knocking down 501 pins in team bowling, and Dan Simmons totaled 470 pins. Four of the five Champion bowlers bowled at least one game of more than 200 pins.
Michael Bryant paced Liberty with 407 pins.
The Austintown Fitch boys team won the AAC, American Division champion with a tight win over Struthers, 2,760-2,743. Chris Mauro and Kyle Sharisky totaled 898 pins for the Falcons in the winning effort.
