HOWLAND - Joseph Martorana, 78, passed Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Joe was born July 23, 1934, in Niles, the son of Michael and Anna Spano Martorana.
Joe was a self-employed bricklayer who owned Howland Builders.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Warren.
Joe was an avid Cleveland sports fan who enjoyed rooting for the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially loved his grandson, Gabriel, and family.
On Feb. 4, 1956, Joe was united in marriage with the former Gloria D. Mazzi, and they had shared 56 years together.
His memory will be remembered and celebrated by those he leaves behind, his wife Gloria; three children, Dianna Swayngim (Norbert Stevens) of Cortland, Joseph M. (Robin) Martorana of Bristolville and John K. (Kim) Martorana of Auburn; a grandson, Gabriel; a brother, Richard Martorana of Maryland; and a sister, Angie Yaugo of Arizona.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell, and eight sisters.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried.
Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
