Sat. 4:23pm: Boil alert lifted for Lowellville

February 2, 2013
Tribune Chronicle |

Aqua Ohio has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory that it issued Thursday for customers in the Village of Lowellville.

Water samples taken over the past 48 hours have tested clean, indicating that as of 1 p.m. today customers no longer needed to boil their tap water before drinking it, according to a release from the utility.

The boil alert was issued after a contractor struck the water main that supplies water to the village.

Aqua Ohio serves about 500,000 customers in 14 counties.
