WARREN - Minnie Owens Thornton, 86, 1380 Arbor St. S.E., died at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Luverne, Ala., the daughter of Gip and Cora Matthews Owens.
Mrs. Thornton retired from Newman's Fish Market and was a member of Monument of Faith COGIC.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Robinson; and a granddaughter, Miss Shallamar Robinson of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Wiley Thornton; a daughter, Dorothy Owens; and three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Monument of Faith COGIC, where calling hours will be held one hour prior to service. Family will also receive friends at 2362 Risher Road S.W., the home of her sister-in-law and nephew, Geraldine Jones and Andrew Thornton.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
