WARREN - Nick M. Laprocina, 86, passed away at 3:03 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Renaissance North Healthcare Center.
He was born June 10, 1926, in Warren, the son of Gabriel N. and Marietta "Mary" Laprocina.
Nick was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired from Republic Steel as a brick layer on the blast furnace after 30 years.

Nick was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Warren Italian American Heritage Festival Committee. He enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and traveling, especially to Italy.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terry" DiCenso Laprocina, whom he married May 19, 1951; two sisters-in-law, Janet Laprocina and Louise Prib, both of Warren; a brother-in-law, Guy (Carol) DiCenso Jr. of Warren; two nephews, Gabe (Sandy) Marchionte and Michael Marchionte; and eight other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard "Hardy" Laprocina; and two sisters, Clara Victor and Nellie Marchionte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
