HUBBARD - David W. Merrell Sr., 82, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Bradford, Pa., the son of Henry C. and Mildred E. Drugg Merrell.
Mr. Merrell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired from Powell Pressed Steel as a foreman and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joanne M. Shaffer; two sons, David W. Jr. of Aurora, Colo., and Kenneth W. of Hubbard; a brother, Richard of Dade City, Fla.; four sisters, Irene Rearick of Girard, Nellie Rutter of Phillipsburgh, Pa., Karen Kepheart of Sanburg, Pa., and Jeannie Ritzie of Reynoldsville, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by a son, Steven M.; five brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
