New this week on DVD and Blu-ray:

"Paranormal Activity 4: Unrated Director's Cut" - The found-footage horror series continues, this time with the action focused on what happens to a family when a woman and her strange child move in next door.

The film is being released on DVD and Blu-ray in an unrated director's cut that includes 8 minutes of additional footage. (Paramount Home Entertainment, $29.99 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray)

"Seven Psychopaths" - Colin Farrell plays a struggling screenwriter who gets entangled with a crime boss (Woody Harrelson) when his buddies (Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken) snatch the crime boss' beloved pooch. Writer-director Martin McDonagh skillfully meshes a quirky crime story with some big ideas in a movie that is nearly as good as his first feature, "In Bruges."

Both the DVD and Blu-ray versions include six featurettes: "Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths," "Crazy Locations," "Woody Harrelson Is Charlie," "Colin Farrell Is Marty," "Layers" and "Seven Psychocats." (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, $30.99 DVD, $35.99 Blu-ray)

"Hotel Transylvania" - Where can a monster go for a quiet, relaxing vacation with no meddlesome humans? It's Hotel Transylvania. Dracula (Adam Sandler) invites all his ghoulish friends there to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), but a human stumbles onto the grounds and changes everything. The voice cast also includes Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade and CeeLo Green.

All versions include a digital copy; a commentary track with director Genndy Tartakovsky, producer Michelle Murdocca and visual effects supervisor Daniel Kramer; three deleted scenes; the music video "Problem (Monster Remix)" by Becky G with will.i.am and a making-of featurette on the video; and a DVD-ROM link to the Hotel T website. Blu-ray buyers get three animation progression reels and two additional featurettes, "Meet the Staff and Guests: Voicing Hotel Transylvania" and "Making the Hotel." (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, $30.99 DVD, $40.99 Blu-ray/DVD combo, $50.99 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD combo)

"The Awakening" - Rebecca Hall ("The Town") plays a woman who specializes in exposing hoaxes. She goes to a boarding school in post-World War I London to investigate the story of a boy who was "scared to death" and uncovers terrifying things a film co-starring Dominic West and Imelda Staunton.

The DVD includes deleted scenes introduced by director Nick Murphy and two featurettes. The Blu-ray adds two more featurettes and an interview with Murphy. (Universal Studios Home Entertainment, $19.98 DVD, $26.98 Blu-ray)

"The Cold Light of Day" - Bruce Willis was getting great review in "Looper" and Henry Cavill stars in the Superman reboot "Man of Steel," but their presence couldn't get this film more than a token release in theaters. Cavill plays a Wall Street trader whose family is kidnapped while vacationing in Spain. Sigourney Weaver costars. (Lionsgate Home Entertainment, $19.98 DVD, $24.98 Blu-ray)

"Hello I Must Be Going" - Melanie Lynskey, probably best known as Charlie Sheen's stalker Rose on "Two and a Half Men," earned rave reviews for her portrayal of a woman who moves back in with her parents (Blythe Danner, John Rubinstein) following her divorce and ends up having an affair with a 19-year-old man (Christopher Abbott). (Oscilloscope Laboratories, $29.99 DVD)

"Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2" - The Christopher Nolan / Christian Bale movies aren't the only current chronicle of the caped crusaders adventures. This is the latest installment of the animated edition, which features Peter Weller providing the voice for Bruce Wayne/Batman. Michael Emerson ("Lost," "Person of Interest") provides the voice for The Joker. (Warner Home Video, $19.98 DVD, $24.98 Blu-ray)
