Nathalie E. Martin 1924-2013

VERNON - Nathalie E. Martin, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, following an extended illness with multiple myeloma.

Nathalie, daughter of Ernest Guy Wolfe (German heritage) and Maude Rosetta Bolyard (French heritage) Wolfe, was born July 24, 1924, in Tunnelton, W.Va. Following her father's early death, Nathalie attended high schools in Kinsman and was a 1944 graduate of Tunnelton High School in Tunnelton, W.Va.

Nathalie married U.S. Army Pfc. Kenneth E. Martin in Morgantown, W.Va., May 29, 1943.

During her formative years, Nathalie enjoyed and attended the Methodist Churches in Denver, W.Va., with her parents, and in Kinsman with her beloved mother.

Mrs. Martin was a long-standing member of the Kinsman Chapel of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and loved sharing with others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed sharing generational stories from her past. She enjoyed connecting political issues to her faith. Her hobbies included shopping and collecting seasonal decorations.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years; a beloved grandson, Jason Lauren Martin; a brother, Vinson G. Wolfe; a niece, Phyllis Golf; and a half-sister, Yvonne N. Thorn.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Gerald L. (Kathie) Martin of Kinsman; Jacquelyn M. (LeRoy) Bradford of Vernon; Jill P. Harris of Ashtabula; Jeffrey L. Martin of Vernon and the Rev. Jon A. (Debra) Martin of Rome, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Kevin, Jennifer, Brian, Amanda, Jonathan and Zebadiah; and five great-grandchildren, Gage, Kaetlin, Jason, Nicholas and Claire.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kinsman Chapel of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 6590 state Route 7, Kinsman, with the Rev. Jon A. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.

The family is grateful for the excellent care provided by the staff and care givers at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home and Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
