Ivan L. Rose Sr. 1935-2013

FARMDALE - Ivan Lee Rose, Sr., 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1935, in Johnston, the son of Nola Gladys Davis and Miles Lee Rose.

Mr. Rose was a 1953 graduate of Vernon High School.

He worked for the former Sealtest and now Kraft of Farmdale for more than 45 years and retired in 1997. Mr. Rose was also known to many because of hauling cattle to the sale barn and hauling milk.

On Oct. 23, 1953, he married Bertha King.

He was a member of Vernon United Methodist Church and the former Burghill Grange.

Mr. Rose was previously on a bowling league and enjoyed Polka dancing, traveling to Amish country, going to auctions, and most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Ginny L. (Bob) Arnold of Vernon, Mary Ann Rufener of Orangeville and Laurie A. Rose of Farmdale; a son, Douglas E. (Marilee) Rose of Lodi, Calif.; a sister, June Tidd of Geneva, Ohio; a brother, Phillip Rose of Andover; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and a great-great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50, Bertha Rose; a son, Ivan L. Rose Jr.; a grandson, Jacob Rose; a sister, Louise Lawrence; and a son-in-law, William Rufener.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with the Revs. John Benigas and Ervine Urschitz officiating.

Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from noon until 2 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
