McDONALD - Elizabeth Tverdosi, 95, formerly of McDonald, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Shepherd of The Valley.
She was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Youngstown, the daughter of Mike and Anna Strichko Ferenchik.
She moved to McDonald in 1946 from Youngstown. Elizabeth worked at U.S. Steel during World War II and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald, the church's Altar & Rosary Society, Youngstown Civic Choirs (church choirs), McDonald Creative Arts & Crafts, McDonald Senior Citizens and Girard Senior Citizens.

Tverdosi
Elizabeth married Nicholas G. Tverdosi on Sept. 28, 1945. He passed away March 8, 1981.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Lois) Tverdosi of Pittsburgh; her daughter, Patricia Ann (Dennis) Nelson of Niles; a brother, Michael Ferenchik of Austintown; a sister-in-law, Mary Ferenchik of Boardman; and six grandchildren, Nicholas Tverdosi of Arlington, Va., Andrew Tverdosi of Pittsburgh, Michelle (Kenneth) Mitchell of Arlington, Va., David Yakimovich of Warren, Paul (Sally) Yakimovich of South St. Paul, Minn., and Peter Yakimovich of Lewis Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nicholas; a brother, John Ferenchik; and a sister-in-law, Sally Ferenchik.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McClurkin Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. There will be prayers at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the church Mass.
