HOWLAND - A body has been found in the township house that caught fire this evening.
Officials wouldn't confirm the identity of the body, but according to a man on the scene who said he was the woman's son, the resident's name is Joyce Barker.
Two thermal-imaging cameras were used to find Barker, who was wheelchair-bound.
Crews were called out to 1393 DeForest Ave. S.E. about 6:45 p.m. to battle the fire. Most of the fire had been extinguished by 7:15 p.m.
For a time, the building was engulfed in flames and police and ambulance crews were called out as well to block the road to traffic.
Two Niles police officers also tried to enter the house but were stopped by downed electrical lines.
This is a developing story. Check back for details.
