HERMITAGE, Pa. - J. Jay Goncz, 74, of Hermitage, Pa., and formerly of Masury, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Sharon Regional Health System, Sharon, Pa., surrounded by his family while being treated for an extended illness.
Jay was born July 28, 1938, at home in Masury, the son of Julius A. and Joycelyn G. Walls Goncz.
He was the owner of C&J Cycle Sales in Masury.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Germond Goncz; a son, J. Jay II of Sharpsville, Pa.; a daughter, Christy Alexander of Frederick, Md.; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a brother, Gray of Hubbard; and two sisters, JoAnn Hughes of Lincoln City, Ore., and Joyce Jones of Laurel, Md.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister.
To honor Jay's wishes, a private time of gathering for his family was held. He was laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Briceland Funeral Service in Brookfield.
