POWELL - Anthony Mark Tesner, 21, left us unexpectedly Thursday, January 17, 2013. He collapsed while exercising at the Campus Recreation Center.
Anthony was in his senior year at the University of Cincinnati, studying pre-medicine.
He was born May 21, 1991, to Melissa Amico Tesner and Timothy Veres Tesner.
Anthony was a 2009 graduate of Olentangy Liberty High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, In The Know Quiz Team and the Frisbee Club.
While a student at UC, Anthony was a LAC Organic Chemistry SI Leader, a volunteer at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and a brilliant tutor.
He was on the Dean's List and was a recipient of the Cincinnatus Scholarship, given only to the brightest and most promising incoming freshman. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast and a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, as well as a football fanatic who followed Notre Dame, University of Cincinnati and the Buffalo Bills. He also loved golfing with his father.
Anthony is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Timothy Tesner; grandparents, Raymond Tesner Sr., Mary Tesner and Dr. Joseph R. Amico.
He is survived by his parents, as well as his loving sister and best friend, Stephanie Ann Tesner; his grandmothers, Anne Amico and Dorothy Tesner; and Jaime Schwendenman, his sunshine and the love of his life.
He touched the lives of his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joan of Arc, 10700 S. Liberty St., Powell. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell.
Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olentangy Liberty High School for the Anthony Tesner Memorial Fund.
