At least one person injured in crash
VIENNA - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two car, head-on collision on Warner Road near Smith-Stewart Road on Monday.
Troopers confirmed that at least one person was transported to a local hospital; however, they said they do not believe anyone suffered any life-threatening injuries.
Grant helps minority business center open
YOUNGSTOWN - A new Minority Business Assistance Center is now open.
The Ohio Development Services Agency awarded a $75,000 grant to the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership to open the center at the MYCAP office. The grant also will provide local minority and disadvantaged or underutilized businesses with the opportunity to expand global economic opportunities and to generate funding.
The grand opening will be held today at the center, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Teenage GOP club meeting today
The Mahoning County Teenage Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Mahoning County Republican Party headquarters, 621 Boardman Canfield Road.
The guest speaker is Tom Costello, a trustee in Boardman.
Mahoning elections director honored
Joyce Kale-Pesta, director of the Mahoning County Board of Elections, has been named ''Ohio Democratic Election Official of the Year'' by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.
Kale-Pesta has worked for the elections board for more than 25 years, serves as a member of the Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners and Ohio Association of Election Officials Legislative Committee.
She was nominated for the award by board of elections members Dave Betras, Mahoning County Democrat Party chairman, and Mark Munroe, Mahoning County Republican Party chairman.
The Republican award was given to Kim Antrican, director of the Warren County Board of Elections.
YSU getting grant to keep grads in Ohio
The state has approved $573,000 for Youngstown State University to attract students and keep them in Ohio after they graduate.
The Ohio Means Internships and Co-ops program purpose is to ensure students are ready to take jobs in the science, technology, engineering, math and medicine fields after graduation. The program was signed into law in 2008 by former Gov. Ted Strickland.
State Rep. Bob Hagan said in a news release Monday announcing the award that ''investing in our young people is investing in our state's successful future.''
LaBrae student released from custody
WARREN TOWNSHIP - A LaBrae High School student charged Sunday with inducing panic after making online threats has been released from custody, according to school Superintendent Anthony Calderone.
Calderone said the police know her whereabouts, and the school is processing her actions through their disciplinary system.
According to township police, the message read, "I'm going to school and going to fail some midterm tests. Going to kill my geometry teacher and every annoying (expletive) in my school."
A LaBrae teacher intercepted the message and alerted the school officials.
The girl, who lives in Leavittsburg, claimed during an interview with police that she was "just frustrated."
