Helen Bowser, 1912-2013

GIRARD - Helen Bowser, 100, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Vista Care at the Ridge, were she was a resident for three years and five months.

She was born May 29, 1912, in Girard, the daughter of the late Samuel and Sophia Meckelcevich Neverovich.

Helen was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard. She lived in Pembroke Pines, Fla., for 28 years before coming to Girard to live with her daughter, whom she is survived by, Carole (Donald) Carner of Girard; five grandchildren, Debra Wann, Evelyn Davis, Stoney Bowser, Sheri Owen and Donald Carner; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Bowser, whom she married April 3, 1931, and passed away Sept. 24, 1984; her son, Gerald, who passed away Sept. 11, 2000; brother, John Neverovich; and sisters, Lizzie Neverovich, Stella Colman, Virginia Neverovich and Violet Skufca.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 78 E. Liberty St., Girard, OH 44420. Family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home. Interment will be in Girard City Cemetery.

The family request that material contributions be made to the Church Memorial Fund in memory of Helen. Also, the family would like to thank Vista Care Center Nora's Place and Hospice of the Valley for the care and compassion they gave to Helen during her time of illness.
