BOARDMAN - Hugh Ross Haynes Sr., 77, died Thursday evening, Jan. 10, 2012, in Beeghly Skilled Oaks Nursing Center.
He was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Culpeper, Va., a son of Roy Jackson and Lena McFarland Haynes.
Hugh served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was an independent truck driver.
Survivors include his children, Hugh R. Haynes Jr. and Dale R. Haynes, both of Boardman, Kathy L. Getz of East Pearl, Pa., and Joseph W. Haynes of North Lima; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Plunkett and Peggy Davis, and one brother, Gus Haynes, all of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Louis Ray Haynes, and a sister and five brothers.
There are no calling hours. Private services will be held.
The Thompson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
