Juanita J. Porter, 1927-2013

NILES - Juanita June Porter, 85, passed away at 2:32 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center Eastland.

Juanita was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Olive Hall, Ky., the daughter of Richard Lee and Fannie Collier Clemens.

A member of the Apostolic Bible Church, she enjoyed motorcycling and camping and was an accomplished golfer. An auditor for the former Packard Electric Corp., she knitted, sewed and embroidered any and all clothing and possessions. Her card playing time with family will always be treasured.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Carla Medovich of Niles and Beverly (Albert) Soccia of Parish, Fla.; her son, Larry A. (Cyndi) Porter of Rootstown; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Carl B., whom she married Oct. 19, 1946, preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1968. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Carl Medovich, and her 12 siblings.

Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, where funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday with Pastor David Murphy officiating.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
