NILES - Thomas A. Anderson Sr., 83, of Gypsy Lane, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Bald Hill, Pa., the son of Frank A. and Agnes Williamson Anderson.
He was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church and the owner and operator of the former TAA Trucking, Hubbard. He had also been employed by numerous area trucking firms as a salesman and dispatcher.

An avid golfer and a member of the Oak Tree Country Club, he loved his East Coast golfing trips, golfing up to seven days a week. An animal lover, he enjoyed watching old Western movies and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Thomas is survived by his wife, the former Joan R. Leonard, whom he married Jan. 26, 1951; his daughters, Lori E. (Edward) Wheeler of Liberty, Janet R. (Gary) Minoff of Sharpsville, Pa., and Jill B. (James) Paridon of Mecca; a brother, Edward J. (Sandy) Anderson of Florida; a sister, Mary Seese of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his eight grandchildren, Sean, Alison, Scott, Sarah, Thomas III, Timothy, Jacob and Jason; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Nora and Kierstyn.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Niles First United Methodist Church, where memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nathan Howe officiating.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas A. Anderson Jr., and two sisters, Elizabeth Anderson and Ona Kinney.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Southern Care Hospice, 501 Ashley Circle, Suite E, Austintown, OH 44515.
Arrangements and care has been entrusted to the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home.
