MINERAL RIDGE - Robert W. Stone, 72, died Monday morning, Jan. 7, 2013, at his home.
Bob was born April 6, 1940, in Akron, the son of Robert J. and Edna Mae Hahn Stone.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a boatswain mate on the USS Bennington and USS Hancock during the Vietnam War.

Bob was a steelworker for Republic and WCI Steel, and was a member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, the former Charlee Guy; one daughter, Sally Phillips; one brother, Richard Stone of Brimfield; and two grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by a half-brother.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel and from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
