NILES - Warren J. McKinney Jr., 66, of 701 Summit Ave., Niles, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center, Wade Park Campus, Cleveland, following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Warren, the son of Warren J. and Vivian Pierson McKinney Sr.
Mr. McKinney retired from Copperweld Steel as a millwright.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, where he was an HM3 (medical assistant), and received the Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Carol A. Parks McKinney; his mother of Youngstown; his sons, Warren J. McKinney III of Akron, Charles Parks of Warren and Justin Parks of Trotwood; his daughters, Warrie McKinney and Kimberly Avery, both of Warren; a sister, Gloria McKinney of Warren; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at the Friendship Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour before service. The family also will received friends at the home of his sister Gloria McKinney, 1613 Jackson St., Warren.
