Carol M. Zabik 1942-2013

HOWLAND - Carol M. Zabik, 70, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Liberty Health Care Center.

Carol was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Cleveland, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie Zupancic.

Carol was a 1960 graduate of Cleveland St. Francis of Assisi High School. She came to Warren in 1971 and had previously worked for the Cleveland-area branch of the FBI as a receptionist for six years. Carol also taught piano lessons in her home for 40 years. She shared her love of music with more than 1,000 students during her teaching career.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary.

Carol enjoyed gardening, photography, cooking, music and her family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Zabik, whom she married Sept. 4, 1965; four children, Julee (Jeff) Klima of Westerville, Ann Marie (Bill) Lee of Wychoff, N.J., Christopher (Nora) Zabik of Chagrin Falls and Joseph (Danielle) Zabik of Maplewood, N.J., eight grandchildren, Rhyan, Grace, Sean, Megan, Rose, Clara, Harrison and Caroline; and a sister, Jacqueline (Ron) Bixel of Concord Township.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating.

Burial will be in Howland Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483.
