GUSTAVUS - Waltraud "Kitty" Emma Viol Bonar, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
She was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Silesia, Germany, the daughter of Erich and Emma Reise Viol.
Kitty married Dale A. Bonar on Dec. 1, 1951, in Freising, Germany, then came to Gustavus Township, where she lived for more than 60 years.

She was employed as a cook for Gustavus Schools and was a member of Gustavus Federated Church, where she was very active in the Ladies Aid. Kitty was a great caretaker of her family and enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her two sons, Tim L. (Kim) Bonar and Tom E. (Bev) Bonar, both of Gustavus; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Romy (Erich) Schmuckermier of Freising, Germany; one brother, Klaus Viol of Freising, Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 12, 2008; her brother, Kurt Viol; and her sister-in-law, Emma Viol.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 state Route 193, Gustavus Township, with the Rev. Ronald C. Spore officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH.
