BOAR'S HEAD FESTIVAL PLANNED FOR CHURCH: St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold the 52nd annual Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Performance tickets are $6 each. The festival will include bagpipers, drummers and a cast of about 100 St. John's parishioners dressed in medieval costume. Tickets may be purchased in the church office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and until noon Fridays. Checks are to be made payable to St. John's Episcopal Church. Parking is free.
SPEAKERS SERIES TO MARK CIVIL WAR'S 150TH: The Sutliff Museum has a Civil War 150 committee speakers bureau. Various topics and presenters are available at no cost to any group wanting a program on the Civil War during the 150th commemoration years of 2013 to April 2015. Plan on a 45-minute presentation. Topics include the cavalry's role in the Civil War, Confederate naval operations, the Shiloh campaign, Trumbull County and Ohio in the Civil War, and the Underground Railroad in Trumbull County.
