WARREN - Pete Teringo, 90, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in Heritage Manor.
He was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Fayette City, Pa., a son of John Teringo and Mary Teringo.
Pete came to Warren in 1950 and retired in 1984 as the owner and operator of the Pete Teringo Home Builders after 25 years. He previously worked out of Warren Local 1438 and Youngstown Local 171 as a union carpenter, and he also previously worked for Barrison and Clark of Indiana and retired from Warren Engineering in 1984.

Pete was a member of Blessed John Paul II (St. Joseph Church) and was the general contractor and builder of the new St. Joseph Church on North Street.
He was a member of Mahoning Valley Chapter 13 of P.O.W., Slovak Club, VFW Post 1090 and the Trumbull County DAV Chapter 11.
He enjoyed decorating his house at Christmas and carpentry work.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Company C of the 5th Infantry Division. He was a POW in Germany for seven months and was captured in Metz, France, and liberated in Newbrendburg, Germany, from Stalag II-A, and received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his children, Mary Ann Teringo of Warren, Eugene M. Teringo of Royal Palm, Fla., Jerome M. (Karen) Teringo of Warren and Dolores M. Hammercheck of New Middletown; grandchildren Sarah (Mike) Williams, Natalie and Amy Teringo, Kelsey Hammercheck and Justin McLemore; a great-grandson, Ethan Williams; and a sister, Helen Hohrun of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Anna Mae Dutko Teringo, whom he married Sept. 14, 1946, and who died April 6, 1997; three brothers, Mike, John and Steve Teringo; and two sisters, Mary Teringo and Ann Bednar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed John Paul II Church (St. Joseph Church), 420 North St. N.W., Warren, 44481, with the Rev. Christopher Henyk officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
