DEAR EDITOR:
This letter is going out to the very inconsiderate person who casually walked through the parking lot at Giant Eagle on Elm Road before 6 a.m. Dec. 17 slashing the tires of three vehicles of hard-working employees inside, not only destroying one tire on each vehicle, but two tires on each vehicle - one front tire and one rear tire.
One of these cars belonged to my daughter. She works very hard at her job at Giant Eagle, and when she's not working, she's putting herself through nursing school. She is a single mom with a beautiful 5-year-old daughter and she is trying very hard to make their lives comfortable and complete.
Let me give you an example of the chaos this person created while thoughtlessly going about the vandalism: First of all, the vehicles had to be towed, tires had to be purchased and other vehicles had to be given to her by other family members - as to not miss a day of work or school, because that's just the kind of person she is.
Next, the wheels had to be removed and then taken to a tire store to be replaced by new ones, and then the wheels had to be driven back to the car and put back on the vehicle. It probably only took a second to ruin them, didn't it?
My daughter is very special in our family and has much support from her family. She is giving and always willing to help do whatever she can to help other others.
And so I say to this Grinch, I almost feel sorry for a person who gets his kicks out of destroying property of people he doesn't even know.
Let me tell you this: I believe in karma, and one day this Grinch will get his. He is a hateful, uncaring, selfish person, and it would please me very much to read that someday he were arrested for vandalism. Not only did he commit a crime, but worst of all, he hurt people and hurt someone I love very much.
So it may not be today or tomorrow or even this year, but this Grinch had better start looking over his shoulder, because it's coming. It always does.
