WARREN - Vincent Wilfred Airhart, 87, passed away Monday evening, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 31, 1925, in Carroll Township, Pa., to Wilfred and Elizabeth Wyland Airhart.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Vince was the owner and operator of Vince's Exxon on the corner of Park and Atlantic streets. He had worked for Superior Industries prior to owning his gas station and worked for Blessed Sacrament Church after he retired.
He is survived by his loving spouse, the former Louise Hricko, whom he married Nov. 15, 1947. Also surviving are three sons, William (Denise) of McDonald, Vincent "Bud" (Kim) and Edward (Jamie) Airhart, both of Warren; four daughters, Kathy (Robert) E. Diamond of Avon Lake, Nancy S. Harris and Joanne (Thomas) L. Smith, both of Girard, and Vicki (Jim) L. Airhart Dertinger of Dublin, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Irvin, Eugene and Alvin Airhart; and three sisters, Geraldine and LaRue Airhart, and Bernadine Mayes.
Family and friends may gather from 6 to 8 p.m. today at The McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Revs. Einsworth and McCarthy co-celebrating his service. Full military honors will be presented after Mass at the church. Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
