NILES - Trudy L. Billey, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, following a brief illness.
Gertrude Louise Billey was born April 8, 1930, in Niles, the daughter of Thomas and Olive Richards Crank.
Trudy cherished her family and was faithful to pray for them daily. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother; she was proud to be a homemaker and a caregiver to her husband.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Niles.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Joseph "Joe" Billey, to whom she was married Jan. 17, 1948, and they shared 64 wonderful years together; her mother, Olive Crank of Niles, who turned 101 in November; daughter, Mary Lou Readshaw of Niles; son, Joseph (Karen) Billey of Niles; seven grandchildren, Alan Shamrock of Niles, John Shamrock of Warren, Wendy (Travis) Beedy of Warren, Joseph (Amy) Billey of Las Vegas, Nev., Vicki Billey of Austintown, Tammy (Chris) Weaver of Youngstown and James MacSkimming of Niles; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Ronald (Marsha) Crank of Niles; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Crank; and three brothers, Bobby Crank, at birth, and Ralph and Thomas Crank.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Preusser officiating.
