BROOKFIELD - John F. Vaso, 91, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in his home, after a brief illness.
He was born May 29, 1921, in Warren, the son of Steve and Mary Vaso.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed building contractor and a former member of Brookfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Alanea J. Mason of Hermitage, Pa., and Sheryene L. Pavone of Brookfield, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie C. Kress Vaso, and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage.
