5 hurt in 3-car crash on Portage-Trumbull line
PARIS - Five people were taken to the hospital following a three-car accident near the Portage and Trumbull County line.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m.?Monday on state Route 5 near Holcomb Road in Paris Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the injured were taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Names of victims and extent of injuries were unavailable Tuesday night.
Five townships responded with emergency personnel to the crash, according to Tribune Chronicle newspartner WYTV 33 News.
Fracking seminar planned for JCC
YOUNGSTOWN - The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering a lecture about fracking in Ohio with speaker Jeffrey Dick, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Geological and Environmental Sciences department, and director of the Natural Gas and Water Resources Institute at Youngstown State University.
Dick will give an overview of Utica Shale activity and associated environmental issues in Ohio.

Family flees duplex fire in Columbus
COLUMBUS - Seven people had to flee a duplex in Columbus after it caught fire, and one person has been taken to a hospital.
WBNS-TV reported that family members had just finishing unwrapping Christmas presents at about 10 a.m. Tuesday when they smelled smoke and saw a fire in the ceiling.
One person was taken to a local hospital after the fire. The person's condition was not immediately available.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Baby Jesus stolen from Nativity scene
CINCINNATI - A baby Jesus figure has been stolen from a popular live Nativity scene in southwestern Ohio.
Police say the figure was reported missing early Christmas morning from outside a funeral home in the Cincinnati suburb of Mount Healthy.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that police say the owner of Paul R. Young Funeral Homes reported hearing someone laughing around 1 a.m.
When he went outside in the morning to feed the animals that help make up the live nativity scene, Officer Joe Powell says "baby Jesus was gone."
He says it's the second time in 12 years that the figure has been stolen.
