AUSTINTOWN - Elizabeth Havaich, 88, formerly of Helen Avenue in Niles, passed away at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Briarfield at Ashley Circle following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 30, 1924, in McDonald, the daughter of Ignace and Jennie Dolence Logar, and resided in this community all of her life.
A 1942 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she was a cook for Niles City Schools, retiring from the high school in 1985.

Havaich
She was a member of the SNPJ Lodge, St. Stephen Church, and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and traveling.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Thomas (Connie) Havaich of Carroll and Robert (Marcey) Havaich of Austintown; four grandchildren, Lynn, Tina, Cari and Stacey; a brother, William (Esther) Logar of Niles; and two sisters, Pauline Harris of Niles and Jennie Novak of Howland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Louis Havaich, whom she married on Sept. 29, 1945, and who died on Nov. 23, 2008; a granddaughter, Amy; three sisters, Justine M. Brauer, Mary Visnosky and Frances Stanec; and six brothers, Ignace, John, Andrew, Edward, Frank Logar and John Dolence.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Church. The Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
