WARREN - Hope T. Van Meter, 51, passed away at St. Joseph Health Center emergency room on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, after a long illness.
Hope was born July 25, 1961, in Warren to John and Josephine Russell Van Meter Sr.
Hope attended Warren Western Reserve High School. She had lived in Keisterville, Pa., for several years before returning to Warren a year ago.
She loved being a stay-at-home mom to Jacob and enjoyed keeping her home clean. She was a very friendly person who would do anything to help someone, a volunteer at the local ball diamond concession stand and loved to shop.
Hope attended the House of Prayer in Smock, Pa.
Hope is survived by her son, Jacob Kuritz of Warren; mother, Josephine Van Meter of Warren; sister, Bobbie Jo Lloyd of Cherry Tree, Pa.; brother, Rodney (Charlotte) Van Meter Sr. of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; nephew, John (Jennifer) Van Meter III of Warren; fiance, Mickey Softa of Keisterville, Pa.; plus many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Van Meter Sr.; brother, John Van Meter Jr.; and nephew, Rodney Van Meter Jr.
Family and friends may gather from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Joe Marshall officiating.
