Police: Man charged with felony robbery
WARREN - A city man told police that three males smashed out the window of his vehicle with a handgun and forced his out of the car on Sunday.
Jevonte Mallory, 18, 3241 Lodwick St., Warren, was charged with felony aggravated robbery in connection with the incident. He was transported to the Trumbull County Jail where he was being held and scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
A juvenile was also arrested in connection with the incident.
It was not clear whether the victim, Gregory Mease, 39, of Ogden Street, was injured. No other information was immediately available.
Vandals damage glass doors of two businesses
WARREN - City police are investigating two incidents of vandalism in which the plate glass doors to the entrances of two local businesses were damaged by a heavy object over the weekend.
According to police, no entry was gained at either the Convenient Mart, 270 Garfield Drive N.E., or First Choice Rentals, 2075 Elm Road N.E.
Police did not name any suspects in the case and no other information was available.
Boy fighting for life after Ohio wreck kills 4
CINCINNATI - A 4-year-old boy critically injured in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 75 in southwestern Ohio is fighting for his life Monday.
State Patrol Sgt. Stan Jordan says doctors aren't sure whether 4-year-old Darius Nkansah of Fairfield will survive, but that "he's fighting."
Police suspect that Darius' father, 40-year-old Joshua Nkansah, was driving drunk with his two sons when he turned around on the freeway around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Franklin and collided head-on with a minivan carrying a Tennessee family.
Killed instantly were Joshua Nkansah, his 7-year-old son David, and 31-year-old Michele Barhorst, who was in the minivan with her family.
Her husband, 37-year-old Scott Barhorst, died later at a hospital. The couple's 9-year-old daughter was the most seriously hurt of their children, but she's now expected to survive.
Christmas alternative at Jewish museum in Ohio
BEACHWOOD - The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage near Cleveland is offering an alternative experience for Christmas Day.
The museum in suburban Beachwood is staging its annual Christmas Day Chinese food and a movie family day event.
The movies are Gene Wilder's "The Frisco Kid" and the animated "An American Tail."
An Asian-inspired Kosher lunch will be available. The holiday season discounted admission is $5 and free for children 12 and younger.
Three shot in central Ohio nightclub
COLUMBUS - Three people were in stable condition after an overnight shooting at a central Ohio nightclub.
Columbus police said it started when someone started spraying champagne into the crowd during a celebration at around 2:30 a.m. Monday. A fight broke out when patrons got angry about being sprayed.
Police said an unknown person started firing a gun, hitting three people - two men, ages 24 and 28, and a 27-year-old woman.
The investigation continues.
