Silvio Ficeti 1923-2012

HOWLAND - Silvio F. "Sil" Ficeti, 89, of Howland passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Silvio was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Crabtree, Pa., the son of Vincenzo and Alessandrina Ficeti.

Silvio graduated from Niles McKinley High School and moved to Howland in 1958 from Niles.

He retired in 1977 from Packard Electric as a receiving clerk after 35 years.

Silvio was a member of St. James Church and was very active with the WIAFC and Warren Elks Lodge 295. He enjoyed playing bocce, bowling, wood working and roasting lamb for lamb roasts.

Silvio served in U.S Army in WW II.

He is survived by two children, Carol A. Ficeti of Howland and Ronald J. Ficeti of Niles; three grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Thomas, Douglas (Allyson) and Stephen Ficeti; and three great-grandchildren, Preston, Anthony and Everleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann Ficeti, whom he married Sept. 4, 1948, and who passed away Jan. 25, 2000; and three brothers, Dante, Renaldo and Pasquale Ficeti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church), with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland, with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Church Restoration Fund, 2532 Burton St. S.E., Warren, OH 44481.
