WARREN - Richard Henry Palm, 81, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Circleville, the son of Cyril Henry and Judith Wood-Manning Chase Palm.
Mr. Palm attended grade school in Circleville until the family moved to Baltimore, Ohio, in 1938. He graduated from Liberty Union High School, Baltimore, Ohio, in June of 1948.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951, trained at Fort Knox, Ky., and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He was a collection agent for the Internal Revenue Service from 1969 to his retirement in 1995.
He was a proud and active member of the Masonic Lodge. He joined the Baltimore Lodge 475 in 1952 and was Worshipful Master in 1966. He joined the York Rite in Lancaster in 1965. When the family moved to Warren in 1973, he became active in the Masonic Bodies of Warren. He was a Charter Member of the Silver Trowel Lodge 776 and was their second Worshipful Master in 1977 and then again in 1998 and 2006.
In 1976, he joined the York Rite in Warren and was Commander of the Warren Commandery 39 in 1981, Illustrious Master of Warren Council 58 in 1983, and High Priest of Mahoning Chapter in 1984 and 1995. He was appointed Deputy Division Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio in 1984 and served in that 11-year line until he was Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio in 1993-1994.
He was Grand Recorder (secretary) of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio from 1995 to 2007. He also joined the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in Youngstown in 1984 and was Thrice Potent Master Hiram Lodge of Perfection and Sovereign Prince of Youngstown Council of Princes of Jerusalem.
He received his 33rd Degree in October 1995. He was accepted into the Knight of the York Cross Honour Ohio Priority 18 in 1985 and received the Grand Cross of Honour in 1994. He also belongs to Our Savior Tabernacle No. XXXIII Holy Royal-Arch Knight Templar Priest. He was a member of the Morning Light Chapter 80, Order of the Eastern Star and was Worthy Patron in 1996, 1999, 2001 and 2002.
Richard is survived by his wife, Janice Faye Benadum, whom he married May 18, 1958; one son, Douglas Hunter (Elizabeth) Palm; two daughters, Nancy Lynne Palm (Eric) Bernard and Linda Kaye Palm Stone; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Jacob, Joshua, Toni Marie, Emily, Hannah and Amanda; and three sisters, Jean Palm, Joan (Harold) Plassman and Betty Morley.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive, Warren, with a Masonic service being held at 4 p.m. and a commandry service being held at 8 p.m. the same day. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
