Anger gene is work of Satan

December 23, 2012

DEAR EDITOR:

This is certainly not the type of letter I would like to write at Christmas time, but recent events make it necessary.

Have you ever wondered why some individuals find it acceptable to take innocent lives, how they justify it, and what possibly could motivate them?

Some say we need much stronger gun laws, or even for the government to take guns away from it citizens. But is it really the guns?

Others say we are exposed to too much violence on television and with video games. But is violence a cause for violent action or merely a symptom of a much deeper problem?

How about drugs and alcohol? Could they trigger such unthinkable actions?

Perhaps the display of hostility this month will finally wake America up.

Mankind seems to have something deep within us that, when acted upon, can have unspeakable consequences. I call it the anger gene. This gene, although more latent in some than others, can be aroused by a number of factors - jealousy, ethnic hatred, racial prejudices and sometimes just life in a cruel world.

An old enemy, Satan, uses this anger gene to his advantage in the most destructive ways.

Our politicians in state and federal government rarely if ever want to discuss the real cliff we are about to go over, but the spiritual cliff threatens America far more than this fiscal cliff.

Life has taught me, and many others, the only way to really suppress and control the anger gene and Satan himself is a strong dose of faith in Jesus Christ. As I have said many times, He is the only great hope for America and the world, and we had better take the cure or face a very dark future. May God bless America.
