HARTWELL, Ga. - Madeline Holesko, 86, formerly of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at St Joseph Health Center in Warren.
On June 12, 1926, in Monongahela, Pa., Andrew and Eva Pulik Gretchko welcomed the birth of their daughter, Madeline.
She received her formal education and attended Newton Falls High School.
Steve Holesko and Madeline Gretchko were united into marriage July 25, 1942, and from this union they had three children, Joan, Marsha and Terrance. Steve preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2003, after 60 years of marriage.
Madeline was a parishioner of St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls and was a former member of St. Joseph Ladies Guild. In her spare time she enjoyed flower arranging and belonged to Newton Falls Silver Sneakers exercise class. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed NASCAR.
Cherished memories of Madeline will be carried on by her son, Terrance (Kathy) Holesko of Hartwell; grandchildren, Stephen, Mark and Erik Holesko, James Monroe, Ted Ogrean, Christy Ogrean, Mathew Washington and Melinda Reinoehl; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughters, Joan Monroe and Marsha Ogrean; granddaughter, Tammy Monroe; brothers, John and Andrew Gretchko; and sisters, Mary Peterson, Sally Burow, Olga Kapalko and Margaret Morally.
Friends my call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Borowski Memorial Home. Prayer services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church. Madeline will be laid to rest next to her husband in St Joseph Cemetery.
