CORTLAND - Herbert Prater, 75, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna.
He was born Jan. 9, 1937, the son of Roy and Mary Dillon Prater.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda Byler, Donna Prater and Diane Vitu; a stepson, Tony Bartleson; one sister; three brothers; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Herbert was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Sajewski; second wife, Melissa Bartleson, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Best Funeral Home in Middlefield. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Mesopotamia.
