WARREN - A Youngstown woman was arrested at the Trumbull County Jobs and Family Services building on North Park Avenue Thursday afternoon after sheriff's deputies said she assaulted a security guard and covered a wall with spit.
Stephanie Romeo, 30, was arrested on charges of felonious assault and disorderly conduct after deputies were called to the JFS building about 3:50 p.m. for a report of someone refusing to leave.
As deputies from the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office arrived, they were told on their radios that a security guard was being assaulted on an upper floor.
When they got there, they spotted Romeo and the guard, and several witnesses told the deputies that Romeo assaulted the guard.
When a deputy told Romeo to stop walking away, she swore at him, reports state, and when she was told she was under arrest she spit at the deputy but missed.
The deputy managed to get Romeo handcuffed but she continued spitting at him and she was placed in a chair, where she spit all over the walls, reports state.
She was walked across the street to the Trumbull County Jail, where she had to be restrained by corrections officers when they were trying to book her, reports state.
Arraignment information was unavailable Friday afternoon.
A search of Warren Municipal Court records show that Romeo was arrested in January on charges of criminal trespass and menacing; in February on charges of menacing and assault; in July on charges of criminal trespass, menacing, assault and disorderly conduct; and in October for criminal trespass.
In 2011, court records show she was arrested three times for criminal trespass, as well as for the charges of drug paraphernalia and assault.
