STUDENTS TO PLAY SANTA: Eight students from National College, Youngstown Campus, and their instructor will play Santa for six residents of Shepherd of the Valley, 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles at 1:30 p.m. today. The students are from the surgical technology program and will earn an associate degree in applied sciences upon graduation. Students are required to perform community service as part of their studies. The students will be visiting residents who do not have family living in the area.

AUTISM GROUPS MERGE: The TriCounty Chapter of the Autism Society has merged with the Autism Society of Ohio and will now be known as the Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley. The group recently held a sensory friendly Santa event at the Eastwood Mall. The regional groups will continue to have a local advisory board, paid staff, programming and a full-time staff member to serve the area. The money raised will stay local to serve Mahoning Valley families.
EVENT HOSTS GIVING TREE: The Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic Giving Tree is helping to raise funds for local shelters and rescues. Items needed included pet food, trash bags, towels, laundry soap, blankets and small dog houses.
