Plans are being formulated at St. Stephen School for CPR classes for residents wishing to take classes to become certified.

Public classes are made possible with a recent donation of a four-pack of Little Anne mannequins by he National Automobile Dealers Association in conjunction with the Ohio Auto Dealers Association, the Automobile Dealers of Eastern Ohio and Toyota Volvo Jaguar of Warren.

"These mannequins are expensive and without organizations like OADA, ADAEO and NADA, we wouldn't be able to afford them," said Jean MacIntyre, sixth grade teacher and certified CPR instructor at St. Stephen.

Donated through the national auto dealers organizations, Joey Marzullo of Toyota Volvo Jaguar of Warren requested a mannequin for the school.

"We were hoping to get one mannequin," Marzullo said, "but when we saw the size of the package, we knew there was more than just one in there."

Rather than just one mannequin, the school was given a four-pack of Little Anne mannequins to aid in teaching CRP classes.

"All of the teachers here at the school have already taken the classes and became certified," said principal Christine Vince.

MacIntyre, who has been a certified CPR instructor with the Red Cross for 25 years, also taught the teachers at St. Stephen. The school has been working with the Red Cross to be an authorized provider of CPR classes.

Plans are now in the works to open the instruction up to the public. MacIntyre and Vince both said class schedules would be made available after the first of the year.
