YOUNGSTOWN - Police say a South Side woman had her throat slit in three different places about 12:40 a.m. today at a 2421 Craiger Ave. home on the South Side.
Karen Warren, 48, is being treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center for her wounds but reports noted those wounds made it difficult for her to talk to officers.
Warren was able to tell police a man she knows came to her home and said he needed gas so she let him inside. Her daughter, Jennifer Paddy, 16, said she was downstairs when she heard her mother yell for help and saw the man on top of her mother cutting her with the knife.
The man then ran after Paddy and cut her in the forehead with the knife and she ran out a door looking for help. He dragged Warren into the kitchen then ran away, reports state.
Paddy was also being treated at St. Elizabeth.
