SANDUSKY - Elizabeth Marie Stewart, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky from natural causes.
She was born on April 27, 1919, in Redtown, the daughter of Alfred Andrew and Rosene Mulpas Houghton.
Elizabeth married the love of her life, John Stewart on April 27, 1935, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together. They were living in Pricetown then and in Sandusky before he passed away on Feb. 13, 1987.
She enjoyed knitting and fishing, but most of all her family.
Memories of Elizabeth will be carried on by her loving family; her son, Alfred Stewart of Fort Meyers, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Nancy Stewart of Sandusky, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sisters Jean Dalrymple, Leonora Geist, Althea Almashy and daughter-in -law Sandra Stewart.
Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where the funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Ferguson officiating.
Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her husband, John, in Newton Falls Cemetery.
