HOWLAND Residents of Shepherd of the Valley in Howland had some cuddly visitors recently as part of the Operation Santa Paws effort this holiday season to get items for pets at local animals shelters and agencies.
Traci Luther, activity director, said residents had the chance to pet cuddly puppies brought to the nursing home by Harbor Pet Store.
Operation Santa Paws is a Christmas drive by Shepherd of the Valley spearheaded to collect needed items for homeless dogs, cats and other animals. Donations may be dropped off through Dec. 17 at any Shepherd of Valley location, Copper Zone Tanning in the Southern Park Mall and Pet Supplies Plus in Boardman.
Donations will be delivered on Dec. 19 to Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary in Salem, Animal Charity of Youngstown and The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County in Warren.
