CHAMPION - Joanne Emery, 52, died peacefully at her home on Dec. 5, 2012, with her family at her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joanne was born on March 11, 1960, in Warren, a daughter of John and Josephine Verna Wargo.
She was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve and had worked for 22 years in the engineering department of Ohio Edison in Warren.

She was well-read, enjoyed shopping and loved chocolate and cafe mocha. Her favorite thing to do was traveling with her loving family, especially to Disney World.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Robert ''Rob'' Emery of Champion, whom she married on Aug. 27, 1988, in Hawaii; a daughter, Melissa; and a son, Robby, both of Champion. Also surviving are her sisters, Elizabeth (Bill Ross) Cantelmo of North Jackson, Mary Wargo of Cortland, Theresa (Bob) Naylor of Vienna, Cecilia Cummins of West Farmington, Nancy Perko of Florida, Dolores Wargo of Warren, Concetta (Jeff) Pagley of Florida, Cindy Walker of Florida and Loretta (Fred) Estlack of Cortland; and brothers, John (Pam) Wargo of Champion and Danny Wargo of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may gather from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Andrew Deskevich officiating.
Burial will follow at Champion Township Cemetery.
