BREA, Calif. - Elsie Mayhew, 89, of Brea, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
She was born on July 11, 1923, in Peavely, Mo., the daughter of the late Loyd and Ola Owen.
Elsie was a member of the Bayshore Gardens Community Church of Bradenton, Fla., and was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, John Mayhew of Oakhurst, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Johnson of Maryville, Tenn., and Sarah McDaniel of Brea; a sister, Mildred DeLong of Tipton, Ind; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mayhew, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sager Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Bristolville.
Arrangements were handled by the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.
