U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Niles, was arrested in August for public intoxication in Lexington, Va. according to his spokesman Pat Lowry and the Washington Post. The misdemeanor was dismissed today by a Virginia court.
''Congressman Ryan made clear at the time of the citation and ever since that he was not intoxicated,'' Lowry said, ''and we're pleased that the court agreed. Congressman Ryan was found not guilty and the case was dismissed.''
Ryan had been arrested while walking to his hotel on Aug. 25 and was released on his own recognizance. He later pleaded not guilty.
