RAVENNA - Mary R. Briganti, 87, formerly of Youngstown, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Robinson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 9, 1925, in Washington, Pa., the daughter of Charles and Emma J. Beddow Drummond.
Upon the age of 18, she was a Rosie the Riveter for World War II in Longview, Wash. She loved sewing pillowcases for her beloved family members, but she also loved making pillowcases for friends and even strangers.

She is survived by her sons, John Billock of Warren, William Billock of Ravenna, Richard Briganti of Waterboro, Maine, and James Briganti of Fredericksburg, Va.; her daughters, Linda Murphy of Ravenna and Jean Ann Pasini of Warren; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nicholas Billock and Matthew Briganti.
Private family services will be ongoing. Arrangements will be held by Bissler & Sons Funeral Home.
