WARREN - Marvin "Pepa" Anthony Sr., 74, 250 Austin Ave. N.W., died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Evelyn, following an extended illness.
He was born July 4, 1938, in Bunkie, La., the son of Wilbert and Wilma Wright Anthony.
Mr. Anthony was a bricklayer with Harbinson Walker. He was a member of Alpha and Omega Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Anthony retired in 1990 as a sergeant first class after 28 years of service with the Army, Navy and National Guard. He received the National Defense ribbon, Good Conduct medal and several honors.
He is survived by one son, Marvin R. Anthony Jr. of Brent, Ala.; six daughters, Evelyn Graham and Michelle Jordan, both of Warren, Rosetta Wright of Columbus, Valerie Haynes of Indianapolis and Gwendolyn Haynes and Sedell Bundy, both of Warren; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and Roshell Daniels of Warren, whom he raised.
Besides his wife, Alberta "Mema" Daniels Anthony, Mr.Anthony was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Anthony; two granddaughters; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at Alpha and Omega Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
