BOARDMAN - Walter "Walt" Frederick Irons, 78, died Thursday morning, Nov. 29, 2012, at Northside Medical Center.
Walter was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Trenton, N.J., the son of Walter Frederick and Ruth Isabelle Smith Irons.
He retired from Motorola in Texas and was a member of New Covenant Worship Center, Church of the Nazerene. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Irene Clingerman; three children, Walter F. of Charlotte, N.C., Lee G. of York, Va., and Dorcas Eversole of Woodburn, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
There will be a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at New Covenant Worship Center, Church of the Nazarene in Youngstown.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Boardman and from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Military graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
